Governments and revenue authorities increasingly combine physical security, digital technologies, data management, production monitoring, authentication, track and trace, enforcement and public engagement to protect excise revenues, combat illicit trade and improve regulatory compliance.
The ITSA Excellence in Tax Stamp and Traceability Awards recognise outstanding achievement across this integrated environment, and provide an opportunity to share innovation, effectiveness and good practice among revenue authorities internationally.
The awards primarily recognise government authorities and government-led programmes. Technology providers, security printers, system integrators and other suppliers that contributed to a winning programme may be recognised as project partners.
Five awards recognising excellence across the full tax stamp and traceability landscape. A project may be entered in more than one category, with a separate nomination for each.

Address each criterion for your chosen category and support your claims with evidence – judges assess only the material you submit.
Full requirements are in the Guidelines and Criteria.
An independent Awards Judging Committee of revenue, customs and industry experts scores every eligible nomination. Alongside the category criteria, three principles apply to all entries.
Principle 1
Claims should be supported by credible evidence. Judges distinguish between stated objectives and demonstrated achievements.
Principle 2
Achievements are judged in the context of the jurisdiction. Large absolute numbers do not automatically outscore smaller but proportionately more significant results.
Principle 3
Judges consider how well an initiative works in practice and the lessons it offers to other jurisdictions.
The Guidelines and Criteria set out everything you need to prepare a strong entry – eligibility, who may nominate, what to include, supporting evidence, confidentiality, the judging process and the full criteria for each category.
Nominations are submitted online via Award Force.
Entries close 31 January 2027.
Independent experts score each entry against the published criteria.
Shortlisted nominees are informed ahead of the ceremony.
Awards are presented at the Tax Stamp & Traceability Forum.
