AWT Labels & Packaging joins ITSA
ITSA has also welcomed AWT Labels & Packaging as a new member, further extending the association’s representation among specialist suppliers whose materials, technologies and expertise contribute to finished tax stamp solutions.
AWT supplies adhesive patches used for tax stamps produced by Canadian Bank Note Company (CBN), an established ITSA member and provider of tax stamps and other security products to government authorities.
AWT’s membership is particularly relevant to an initiative now underway at ITSA to encourage greater participation by specialist suppliers to principal tax stamp providers.
Although principal providers are the most visible participants in national tax stamp programmes, the finished stamp typically draws on a much wider supply chain. This can encompass specialist security inks and coatings, substrates, adhesives, optical and other security features, printing and finishing technologies, application equipment, authentication devices, coding and marking systems and data technologies.
ITSA is seeking to bring more of these companies into the wider tax stamp community, giving specialist suppliers an opportunity to engage beyond individual customer relationships and contribute their expertise to discussions involving principal providers, government authorities and other industry stakeholders.
Their participation is also becoming increasingly relevant as tax stamps evolve from standalone physical security products into solutions combining materials science, authentication, unique identification, traceability and digital technologies.
