ITSA Welcomes New Board Member
The International Tax Stamp, Authentication and Traceability Association has welcomed Tom Taylor, CEO of Quantum Base, to its board of directors, while AWT Labels & Packaging has joined the association as its newest member.
Tom brings extensive experience in technological innovation within the tax stamp industry. As a board member, he intends to focus on three closely related areas: supporting the continued development of both the physical and digital elements of tax stamps; promoting solutions that improve outcomes for governments and citizens worldwide; and helping to grow the industry by strengthening the effectiveness and success of tax stamp programmes.
Tom joined Quantum Base as Chief Commercial Officer in January 2024 before becoming CEO in August of the same year. The company, which joined ITSA over a year ago, has developed its Q-ID technology, an authentication feature based on quantum-active materials that can be incorporated using conventional printing processes and authenticated using a smartphone.
Tom sees considerable potential for combining physical security, digital authentication and traceability within tax stamp programmes. He predicts that smartphones will increasingly become an important means of authenticating tax stamps, including by consumers themselves.
